Zone 3 Press

Zone 3 is both a nationally distributed literary journal and a nonprofit literary press dedicated to publishing and promoting the work of emerging writers. Our literary journal is published twice a year by the Austin Peay Center of Excellence for the Creative Arts, and our editors welcome submissions of fiction, poetry, and nonfiction from both established and emerging writers. We are also currently promoting Zone 3 Press’s new book, Creature Wing Heart Machine by L. S. McKee, which is available for preorder now!

Founded in 1986 by APSU professors David Till and Malcolm Glass, Zone 3 was originally named for the climate zone that covered our region. Senior Editor Amy Wright describes Zone 3 as “a conversation between a number of disparate voices... Such contrast, one hopes, makes readers more conscious of the vast terrain we inhabit and traverse quickly.”
